How the centering tool works

Card centering is the ratio of the borders around a card's printed frame - left to right and top to bottom. A perfectly centered card is 50/50 on both axes. Graders like PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC and TAG each publish centering tolerances for their top grades, and off-centre cards are one of the most common reasons a card misses a gem-mint 10.

Upload a straight-on photo, line the blue guide up with the card's edge and the yellow guide up with the printed frame, and this card centering tool calculates the front and back centering and compares it to each grader's published targets - all on your device, with nothing uploaded.

What centering do you need for a PSA 10?

PSA allows roughly up to 55/45 centering on the front (and looser on the back) for a Gem Mint 10, while BGS, CGC, SGC and TAG hold their very top grades closer to 50/50. This tool measures your card's centering against each company's published targets so you can see where it lands before you pay to submit.

Does this predict my grade?

No. Centering is only one factor. Corners, edges, surface, print quality and the grader's own judgment all affect the final grade, so treat this as a centering check, not a predicted grade.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The image is processed entirely on your own device - nothing is uploaded or saved to a server.
